- Travel Advisory: Recent events could affect your travel insurance or flights. Be sure to stay up to date with the Canadian Government Travel Advisory web site, your airline and your insurance policy.
- New Fee Structure: Effective 2026-01-01 the Sar-El Israel portion of your registration fees have changed. They are now: ($170 USD for the first week plus $60 USD for each additional week). The Sar-El Canada portion ($100CAD) has not changed. Applications already received by Sar-El Canada on the effective date are grandfathered at the previous rate.
- 2026-01-01 New Program Dates are available through 2026. See the latest schedule here.
- 2025-02-05: Electronic Travel Authorization As of January 1, 2025 everyone visiting Israel needs an ETA-IL (Electronic Travel Authorization) which can be obtained at https://israel-entry.piba.gov.il/learn-about/ . It currently costs NIS25 and is valid for 2 years with multiple entries not exceeding 90 days. When applying and intending to do Sarel you are entering Israel as a TOURIST and not a volunteer (this category is for volunteering more than 6 months). Also there is no need to apply through a third party as it costs significantly more and is easy to do by oneself.
- First Aid Training with Magen David Adom: Include an intensive first aid training program in your Sar-El tour. It’s now available via Sar-El Israel in collaboration with Magen David Adom. See the program calendar for specially marked program dates and read about the program here.
- 2024-05-22 New e Brochure: Thanks to our talented volunteer, Steve N. we have a new PDF program overview pamphlet which you can see here.
